What to visit in Hallstatt

During your free time, you can explore Hallstatt at your own pace. We especially recommend visiting:

• the historic center and Marktplatz square,
• the famous viewpoint of Hallstatt, the lake, and the church,
• the promenade along Lake Hallstatt,
• the Evangelical Church,
• the Ossuary or Bone House,
• the Hallstatt Skywalk viewpoint,
• local cafes, restaurants, and souvenir shops.

Admission to monuments, cable car, Skywalk, and other activities are not included in the transport price and each traveler pays for them separately.

What to bring

We recommend bringing:

• comfortable shoes,
• clothing appropriate for the current weather,
• a light jacket or raincoat,
• water and a small snack,
• sunglasses and sunscreen,
• a charged phone or camera,
• personal documents,
• a payment card or cash in euros.

The weather in the Alps can change quickly, so we recommend having a warmer layer of clothing with you.
